The Energy Park, part of the Blyth Energy Central Investment Zone, offers tax and business rate incentives, access to clean energy infrastructure, and direct access to deep-water quays at the Port of Blyth. It also benefits from excellent transport links, including the A189 (connecting to the A1(M) and A19), rail links for freight, and is just 20 minutes from Newcastle Airport.
Major developments at NEP include the North Sea Link (NSL) Interconnector, Blackstone QTS’s £10bn Data Centre Campus, JDR Cables’ advanced manufacturing facility, and SSE Renewables’ onshore converter station for the Berwick Bank Windfarm.
The Energy Park is supported by Energy Central, a partnership between Northumberland County Council, Advance Northumberland, Port of Blyth, and ORE Catapult, driving growth across the Blyth Estuary. NEP offers a well-developed supply chain, a skilled workforce, and expertise in engineering and manufacturing, enabling businesses to reduce costs and boost productivity through collaboration.
